William Davison - April 9, 2003

William Harrison "Harry" Davison, 78, of Sandwich, formerly of Minonk, died Wednesday (April 9, 2003) at the Shabbona Healthcare Center, Shabbona.

His funeral will be at 5 p.m. Monday at Burkhart Funeral Home, Sandwich, Pastor Jenny Weber officiating. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Davison Cemetery, west of Minonk. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Harry was born Aug. 6, 1924, in Minonk, the son of Lester S. and Doris Kerrick Davison. He married Helen Beyer. She survives.

Also surviving is one daughter, Sue-Ellen Davison, LaSalle; and one sister, Betty (S.S.) Woods, Pensacola, Fla.

His parents and brother, John Davison, preceded him in death.

He served his country honorably with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

Prior to his retirement in 1984 he was employed as a pilot for United Airlines. He was a member of the Retired United Pilots Association (RUPA).

He was an avid golfer able to play the game from either side of the ball because of his being "ambidextrous."
